Run your own race. You are your only competition.

Titles, positions, promotions, achievements, money, success — they can all be good and meaningful, and things worth chasing so long as we are running our own races.
At the end of it all, if we find that we attained all of that in the list above except perhaps the most important thing of them all — Peace, then it’s highly likely that we were running the wrong race, the whole time.
One of my favorite Albert Einstein quotes: “A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness.”
My wife reminds me of that every single day. And I cannot thank her enough for that.
